Belly & Trumpet to Open in the Old Bowery Space

Coming soon to the old Bowery (and before that, Lumi) space on McKinney Avenue is a fresh new concept called Belly & Trumpet. Few details are available at the moment, but for now at least this much is true:

· Belly & Trumpet is from the same team behind the Bowery, including Richard and Tiffanee Ellman (Oak) and John Paul Valverde (Outpost).

· The interior is still a work in progress, but already looks very different than it did as the Bowery — gone is all the wood paneling, replaced by walls painted in rich shades of rose and purple, plus fancy gold frames and animal print settees; it appears that Belly & Trumpet will be a much more upscale dining experience than the casual counter service of the Bowery.

· They're currently staffing up, as indicated by a prominent "Now Hiring" sign hanging out front of the building.
