Chili Cook-Offs Galore; Life is Sweet Tickets On Sale

UPTOWN—McKinney Avenue Tavern will host a chili cook-off for charity this Saturday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thirteen area restaurants including Driftwood, Jonathon's, Max's Wine Dive, Hopdoddy, and Pop Diner will participate; tickets are $20 and include chili samples and free beer. [Eaterwire]

DOWNTOWN—Tickets are now on sale for Life is Sweet, the annual event that pairs local chefs with intellectually or developmentally disabled young adults to create fabulous desserts. WHITE ROCK—'Tis the season for chili cook-offs, apparently: The third annual White Rock Lake Market competition will take place Saturday, April 27 and there's still plenty of room for more competitors.
