The Easy Slider Truck Whips Up Unique Flavor Combos

Dallas-based fans of mini-burgers are blessed to live in a city with its very own mobile slidery — the Easy Slider truck. One of the city's first food trucks to gain major recognition, Easy Slider debuted at the tail end of 2011 with an eye on locally sourced ingredients and creative flavor combinations, some of which may sound a bit wacky to the uninitiated.

The Sweet and Lowdown has been a staple of the truck's menu since it opened, layering goat cheese, strawberry jam, and bacon for a sweet-salty-creamy combo; there's also the Nutty Pig, a rather typical-sounding beef slider made atypical with the addition of a smear of creamy peanut butter. A recent special for a one-off event adorned the usual mini burger with sea salt caramel and caramelized red onion. April's monthly slider special has a bit of a light and healthy slant: It's called "The Best Coast" and involves a turkey patty, feta, tomato, local microgreens, avocado, and a balsamic vinaigrette.

To track down the Easy Slider truck, scope out their schedule via their website; Friday afternoon they'll be on hand in the Arts District for lunch.
