Full Circle Tavern Brings Poutine and Beer to The Cedars

Full Circle Tavern soft-opened on Tuesday next door to the legendary Bill's Records and just a stone's throw from The Cedars Social and NYLO Southside; besides a full bar and plenty of beer, including local brews on tap, there's a full menu of lunch and dinner options with a decidedly Midwestern slant — think beer cheese soup with soft pretzels, deep-fried cheese curds, a beer-marinated sausage with kraut on a pretzel roll, and yes, the Canadian delicacy poutine.

. Co-owner Lara Whittington — who, along with business partner Jennifer Bonner, got her start in catering some six years ago — says Full Circle's version is much more authentic than most of the Texafied versions that can be found around town, adorned with the appropriate cheese curds and requisite brown gravy.

Every table gets a basket of housemade potato chips, the flavor of which changes daily. There's also fried pickle chips, crab cakes with minimal filler (which Whittington says have a loyal following from their catering days), a Thanksgiving-style turkey sandwich, and a "Badass" burger with fried cheese curds, brown sugar-rubbed bacon, and a fried egg.

An expansive patio is sure to draw the neighbors in for warm weather drinking. For now, Full Circle Tavern is open for lunch and dinner (and closed Mondays); brunch service will begin in a few weeks. Stay tuned for grand opening festivities next month.
