No one seemed to mind much that Lemon Bar on Henderson Avenue shuttered last month, but ears certainly perked up at the announcement that restaurateur Mico Rodriguez was taking over the space.
Now, more details have surfaced on Rodriguez's upcoming concept — according to SideDish, Mesero Miguel will be an "American grill with a Mexican menu." The interior is getting made over for the umpteenth time since it was once Tristan Simon's Cuba Libre, and Rodriguez says sixties-era Palm Springs is serving as inspiration.
Longtime Nosh chef Jon Stevens will assist Rodriguez with the opening; he's parting ways with Avner Samuel & co. this month to focus on his own project, Stock and Barrel. Mesero Miguel is scheduled to debut July 11.
