After a lengthy process of reviewing the thousands of submissions submitted by chefs, industry vets, diners, and Eater editors, the Eater selection committee has whittled its 2013 class of Young Guns down to 50 semi-finalists, including FT33's Sabrina Hunt, who holds the position of pastry sous chef at the ripe old age of 22.
As previously mentioned, Eater Young Guns aims to identify the most promising up-and-coming talent in the restaurant industry, whether they're working as chefs or line cooks, wine and cocktail pros, restaurateurs, or maître d's. The criteria are simple: Nominees must be under 30 years of age (or have worked in their chosen field for less than five years) and must be currently employed in the hospitality industry in the United States.
Head over to National for the full list of nominees, and expect to hear more on the semi-finalists between now and the end of June, when the final class will be revealed.
