Texas Monthly barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn's highly anticipated first book, Prophets of Smoked Meat, won't be released till May 14th, but naturally there are some advance copies circulating. The TX BBQ Posse was a bit underwhelmed by the book, which will be released on Anthony Bourdain's Ecco imprint, noting that "it is largely about bad Texas barbecue. Page after page of bad barbecue.
