Travel rag for the affluent Condé Nast Traveler has just released its "Best New Restaurants in the World" list, and our very own Spoon Bar & Kitchen made the cut. While Traveler gives John Tesar props for his "prodigious technique and fine-dining flourishes," they can't quite contain their shock at finding such quality seafood in D-town, noting that it's "quite astounding to find such hamachi and char in landlocked Dallas." (Obviously they haven't been talking to Jon Alexis.)
Houston's Underbelly and Oxheart also made the list's "American South" category, as did New Orleans' Restaurant R'Evolution and several other places in the "American South"; the remainder of the 70 restaurants hail from New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, London, Paris, and San Francisco.
