The downtown coffee drought is officially over. After the closing of Mercantile Coffee last summer and the shuttering of the Starbucks at the Magnolia Hotel in winter, things were looking a bit bleak for caffeine-addicted downtown residents and commuters — but with the recent arrivals of Stupid Good Coffee and now Weekend Coffee inside The Joule, coffee lovers once again find themselves with plenty of options.
Officially open as of yesterday, Weekend boasts a fancy La Marzocco espresso machine (all the rage in Dallas coffee shops these days), beans from Seattle's Victrola Roasters, and pastries baked in-house by Charlie Palmer pastry chef Ruben Torano. It's open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
