A new vegan bakery is slated for Richardson: Friends Racene Mendoza and Nancy Castillo are teaming up to open Reverie Bakeshop near the intersection of Coit and Campbell roads in September.
In addition to being totally animal-free, Reverie will also offer gluten-free items and catering services, including Ace of Cakes-esque specialty and wedding cakes. Besides cakes, hungry vegans can expect to find a variety of treats including chocolate chip cookies, danishes, donuts, coffee cake, fudge, cupcakes, cakeballs, brownies, and even vegan paninis made with gluten-free bread.
Following the route that so many start-up food businesses take these days, they've got a Kickstarter in the works to help with opening costs; with 19 days left, they're already 85 percent of the way there.
