Firebird Restaurant Group (El Fenix, Meso Maya) has purchased the Snuffer's chain, ensuring Dallasites will be clogging their arteries with cheese fries for years to come. The longstanding Dallas chain filed for bankruptcy back in March; the original Lower Greenville location was bulldozed in April but will reopen bigger and better this fall. UPDATE: CultureMap has since updated their story to say that Firebird has not in fact purchased the chain, but has merely "stepped in to aid the Snuffer's burger chain with a financial boost" by "purchas[ing] Snuffer's bank note"; Firebird is now "the lender to the five Snuffer's that are in bankruptcy."
