Yet another culinary competition show is hitting the airwaves, and this one has some local connections: Deep Fried Masters premieres August 5th on Destination America (which is of course also home to BBQ Pitmasters with Aaron Franklin). Local deep-fry masters Butch Benavides and Abel Gonzalez, who State Fair-goers might recognize as the creators of items like chicken-fried cactus bites and fried butter, will serve as two of the judges.
