TRINITY GROVES—This Saturday (actually, the third Saturday of every month) Four Corners Brewing Co. is holding a Local Flavor Showcase; ten bucks gets you a souvenir glass, three free samples, and the chance to catch some live music and nibble on local eats. [Eaterwire]

VICTORY PARK—The W Dallas is dropping $4 million to renovate its guest rooms to be "bigger, bolder, brasher." Additions to the rooms will include "snakeskin covers for new 42-inch flat screen TVs," rhinestone hardware and lasso sculptures. Also: "Some of the carpeting and the ends of the corridors will include the mud flap girl." Hey, they didn't say anything about "classier." [Dallas Biz Journal]

DEEP ELLUM—The Dallas Love Project is aiming to turn the City of Hate into the City of Love by displaying "20,000 works of unconditional love" all across Dallas leading up to the anniversary of the JFK assassination. They're holding a kickoff party tonight at Deep Ellum Brewing Co.; $10 gets you a souvenir glass, a brewery tour and three pints of beer, plus live music and food by the Crazy Pig food truck, and half the proceeds will go to the Love Project. (Better hurry though, it starts at 6 p.m.) [Eventbrite]
