Deep Ellum now has its very own doughnut shop, and the sheer awesomeness of that was certainly not lost on its previously doughnut-starved population when it opened last Friday — it sold out entirely within 90 minutes of opening. The Glazed Donut Works crew stepped up production by 30 percent for its second day of biz on Saturday, but still sold out quicker than they hoped; as a result, they're tripling their existing number of staff in order to ramp up doughnut output and ensure folks aren't walking away empty-handed.
According to co-owner Darren Cameron, Glazed will be closed most of this week in order to train the new staff. They'll reopen Friday morning at 7 a.m. with (hopefully) plenty of doughnuts to go around. To sate your appetite until then, here are a few photos of Glazed, including its oh-so-appropriate rolling pin light fixture.
