The first night of business at Zoli's NY Pizza Tavern didn't exactly go off without a hitch — in fact, according to owner Jay Jerrier, it was a "complete epic failure."
Seems their computer system experienced a major malfunction and crashed just minutes prior to their 5 p.m. opening, resulting in lost tickets that sent service into a tailspin and created very long waits for some patrons. Jerrier made the decision to shut things down just prior to 7 p.m., explaining via Facebook that he "felt that the operational problems were also starting to impact the ability to put out the pizzas to the standard [he] was comfortable with."
The good news? The reaction to the food was overwhelmingly positive, with one Facebook commenter saying, "After one bite of the pizza, all was forgiven." Zoli's reopens at 5 p.m. tonight after taking some time to work out the kinks.
