Carnival Barker's May or May Not Open This Weekend

Long-awaited Lower Greenville food truck park the Truck Yard had hoped to open today, but they're unfortunately still waiting on their official certificate of occupancy from the city (damn you, bureaucrats). The latest word from Truck Yard tenant Carnival Barker's Ice Creams is that they perhaps, might, maybe, just maaaaybe open on Saturday.

So if you, like so many other area residents, are planning a trip to the recently opened Trader Joe's this weekend, amble on over to the Truck Yard across the street and see if Carnival Barker's is open for biz; in addition to their much-loved flavors like Nutella Vodka and Munchies, their website also promises floats made with artisanal root beer, ice cream sandwiches and other assorted delights.

(For more on the epic saga of red tape that has led up to the long-awaited opening of Carnival Barker's, check out Eater contributor Caren Rodriguez's June interview with owners Aaron Barker and Sarah Miller.)
