Belly & Trumpet Goes Casual; What Chefs Drink

UPTOWN—Tonight Belly & Trumpet debuts their new, more casual "Monday Front Porch Feast" menu that includes items like a burger, chicken wings, crab beignets and grilled lamb sliders (the regular a la carte menu will also be available). Work in the service industry? All food is 50 percent off, plus Smyth bartender Omar Yeefoon will be making a cameo behind the bar. [Eaterwire]

DESIGN DISTRICT—The Wine Poste will host Chef Tre Wilcox on Friday, October 11 for an "elaborate five-course feast" with wine pairings. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. with a champagne reception. Seats are $125 per person; call 214-272-3221 to reserve. [Eaterwire]

WHAT CHEFS DRINK—What do chefs drink while they're busting ass to cook your food? Belly & Trumpet's Brian Zenner goes fancy with Pellegrino; Malai's Braden Wages guzzles the house iced peach and green tea, because the kitchen "is stupid hot because of the wok range." [Serious Eats]
