2013 "Empire Builder of the Year" Jay Jerrier continues his quest to dominate the DFW pizza landscape with the impending opening of Neapolitan sensation Cane Rosso's Fort Worth location. People pretty much freaked out when it was announced last summer that Jerrier's crew was expanding to Cowtown, and understandably so: Since opening its first Deep Ellum location back in 2011, the VPN-certified pizzeria has become the go-to for stellar pies (at least for people who don't take issue with the whole 'tip sag' thing).
CR FW is located on West Magnolia Avenue not far from other dining destinations like Nonna Tata, Ellerbe Fine Foods and Spiral Diner, in the space that was formerly occupied by the short-lived Ryan's Fine Grocer & Delicatessen ($28 lobster roll, we hardly knew ye.) The blazing-hot imported pizza oven at the new location will be overseen by Jersey-born master pizzaiolo Shon Ben-Kely.
