TRINITY GROVES—Cold weather calls for hearty dishes, and Resto Gastro Bistro clearly got the message: Tonight's special is chicken and dumplings made with trumpet mushroom foie gras broth and crispy chicken skin. You know, like grandma used to make except way better? [Eaterwire]

VARIOUS LOCATIONS—Cheese fry haven Snuffer's has finally made the switch to Coke products, because seriously who still drinks Pepsi? All locations have also added two new menu items: housemade guacamole (which might make a nice addition to those cheese fries) and sweet potato fries (which obviously are begging to be smothered in cheese and bacon). Oh, one more thing: $1 Bud Light drafts all day, every day. [Eaterwire]

DEEP ELLUM/PRESTON CENTER—Tanoshii Ramen and Miss Chi are celebrating the Lunar New Year this week. Tanoshii will have food and drink specials and giveaways Friday beginning when it opens at 11 a.m., with a Lion Dance performance at 5:30 p.m.; at 9 p.m. patrons will release 150 (eco-friendly!) paper lanterns to symbolize 'new beginnings.' Miss Chi's celebration will take place Saturday; beginning at 11:30 a.m. there will be free sticky rice and whole roasted pig while it lasts, plus a Lion Dance. [Eaterwire]
