East Dallas favorite Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House will be open for lunch starting February 7. Rather than the typical weekday schedule, they'll serve lunch 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday through Monday. D editor Tim Rogers reveals this is a measure intended to keep Goodfriend "on the favorable side" of archaic Texas booze laws that require restaurants in dry or 'damp' areas to make more than half their sales from food rather than alcohol.
