OAK CLIFF—TJ's Seafood Market and Driftwood chef Omar Flores are teaming up for a dinner to introduce Dallas to the tasty but invasive species lionfish. Flores will present a five-course dinner with four different preparations of the fish at Driftwood on January 13 at 7 p.m. for $80 (wine pairings for an extra $20). Co-hosting the dinner will be Dave Johnson of Traditional Fisheries, who sources lionfish for restaurants all over the country. Call 214-942-2530 to reserve. [Eaterwire]

UPTOWN—Boxwood Tap & Grill is hosting a four-course Rahr & Sons beer dinner on January 14 at 7 p.m. for $55 per person. Peep the menu here. [Eaterwire]

LOWER GREENVILLE—In honor of Elvis' birthday on January 8, Carnival Barker's Ice Cream will offer cups and pints of their elusive Fat Elvis flavor. As the ice cream gurus note on their Facebook page, it's the first time in months they'll offer this particular flavor, which contains peanut butter, bananas and candied bacon. [Eaterwire]
