Welcome to Eater Scenes, in which our intrepid photographers visit some of the city's finest restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today: Pecan Lodge.
As pillar of Dallas barbecue Pecan Lodge prepares to move on up to newer, bigger digs in Deep Ellum (the latest report says they could open as soon as late spring, rather than the previous estimate of this summer), it's still business as usual at the original Dallas Farmers Market outpost. Anyone with a hankering for some of Justin Fourton's luscious, smoky brisket over the weekend must be prepared to wait in a mighty long queue; of course, sample acquisition from neighboring booths like Ain't No Mo Butter Cakes and the newer (gluten-free!) Ipanema Cheese Bread is always a good way to pass the time. (And once people do finally get their plate of 'cue, there's no shortage of Instagramming going on.)
