The owners of local Southwestern-ish chain Blue Mesa Grill are bringing tacos and tequila to the Quadrangle with the second location of Tacos and Tequila (or TNT, for those who prefer acronyms), slated to open next month. Much like the first location that opened in Austin in 2010, TNT will showcase tequila cocktails made with fresh juices and a variety of different taco options from ahi tuna to marinated steak. Expect not one but two patios, including one on the roof that will have a full bar with late-night service. TNT will be open daily, with brunch buffet service on the weekends.
The food menu revolves around grilled skewers that can be ordered a la carte or incorporated into tacos, salads, wraps, or burritos; possibilities from the inaugural menu include buffalo chicken tacos with blue cheese and poblano ranch, a rojo shrimp burrito with mango relish and jicama slaw, and orange-sriracha glazed chicken skewers served with queso. There's also breakfast tacos (served all day for late risers and breakfast-for-dinner types), a made-to-order guacamole cart, and queso flights — which, given Dallas's penchant for gooey cheese dip, are surely destined to be a hit. Scope out the full food menu below, as well as the bar menu with its dizzying array of tequila options and yes, even a pumpkin spice margarita:
TNT at the Quadrangle, 2800 Routh St., tacos-and-tequila.com.
