Can new Henry's Majestic succeed in the seemingly doomed restaurant space where Acme Social Club (née Acme F&B) and Cretia's faltered? The folks behind Dallas brunch stalwart Bread Winners are certainly hoping so; their new venture debuts tonight just across the way from college-kid watering hole The Corner Bar.
The dinner menu from chef and Hell's Kitchen contestant Roe DiLeo (formerly of The Libertine) is about as broad as you'd expect from a Bread Winners venture, including everything from cheese and charcuterie plates, housemade onion dip, and fancy-sounding "Oysters Majestic" with pancetta and kimchi butter to a Texan spin on pho, a Reuben with riesling sauerkraut, and grilled swordfish on brioche. There's a burger too, of course, this one adorned with bacon, bone marrow, and housemade pickles.
The beverage selection is promising, thanks to barman Alex Fletcher (The People's Last Stand, Victor Tangos, et al). Creative concoctions like the Dusk Till Dawn (mezcal, banana, cilantro, pineapple-vanilla syrup, egg white) share space with a trio of draft cocktails, including a tasty-sounding one called The 8AM made with "nitrous charged Vietnamese blended coffee," vanilla bourbon, and almond milk. There's a solid draft beer selection, too, with some notable locals including Lakewood, Peticolas, and the much-beloved Revolver Blood & Honey alongside good ol' Lone Star.
A dog-friendly patio with a fireplace and pool table will likely find favor with the weekend brunch crowd; scope out the brunch menu in all its gravy- and syrup-smothered glory here, and dinner and drink menus below.
