EAST DALLAS—Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House will host a Movember kick-off party tomorrow from 5-9 p.m. For the uninitiated, Movember is an annual month-long event that involves dudes growing their mustaches to raise awareness for men's health issues. This year a mobile barbershop called FLY Barbershop will be present, and there will also be a raffle and live music; more info here. [EaterWire]
DESIGN DISTRICT—Meddlesome Moth has a new chef, Robbie Lewis, and a new fall menu. Additions include squab with celery root and rhubarb, grilled quail with pumpkin grits and an impressive-looking whole pig trotter (shown above). Peep the Moth's website for the full menu. [EaterWire]
LOWER GREENVILLE—Truck Yard will serve "Haunted Truck Yard Punch" tonight ("a spooky-yet-delicious combination of Cana Brava Rum, moonshine, pumpkin syrup and apple cider" that's "served inside an actual pumpkin, complete with dry ice for a foggy effect") starting at 6 p.m. until they run out. A costume contest for both humans and dogs starts at 9 p.m. The human winner gets a $500 gift certificate while the dog winner gets a $250 gift certificate, either of which will buy a lot of cheese steaks and beer.
