The vacated property of short-lived EZ Dude BBQ will soon become a French bistro. Teresa Gubbins of CultureMap reports after the barbecue spot closed in October, Jean-Michel Sakouhi - a restaurateur who's been on the "DFW restaurant scene for more than 20 years, dating back to his days as a server at the Mansion on Turtle Creek" - purchased the restaurant property and will open Cépage 2820.
The French bistro will serve a menu filled with offerings from Sakouhi's native land on France. Diners can expect "rabbit, French onion soup and croque madame, the recently resurgent ham-and-cheese sandwich with béchamel sauce." The restaurant's other focus will be wine, after all, cepage is French for grape. Greg Forshay will oversee the wine program. Sakouhi's Cépage will be the first wine bar in Deep Ellum. CultureMap notes that "[Sakouhi] is aiming to be open by the holidays," according to a representative.
