Cult favorite Comedy Central duo Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson hit Oak Cliff's Kessler Theater last night as part of their Broad City Live tour, regaling a sold-out crowd with their beloved brand of stoner comedy. Sometime between sharing "The Soundtrack of [Their] Lives" with the audience — spoiler: Glazer would come out of the womb to Chic's "Le Freak" — and participating in a drum-off, the ladies talked about exploring the Bishop Arts neighborhood.
Jacobson raved about coffee shop/bookstore The Wild Detectives, declaring "it gets me." She and Glazer, avowed brunch devotees, also mentioned eating at diner staple Norma's Cafe, which they proclaimed "busy as fuck." Clearly, loving brunch are two things that Broad City and Dallas have in common; the duo led the crowd in an enthusiastic "brunch, brunch, brunch" chant, proclaiming the love of the lazy Sunday meal "a universal thing" — well, a "first world" universal thing, Glazer clarified.
Broad City season two debuts January 14 on Comedy Central; watch a trailer for the sophomore season here.
