Here's a look inside OSO Food & Wine, the new venture from two restaurant industry veterans — former MCrowd CEO Michael Cox and chef Kelly Hightower, whom many diners will remember from places like Kavala and Nova — that opened last month at Preston and Forest. OSO brings a unique brand of modern Mediterranean-influenced fare that includes dishes like the biggest damn pork chop milanese you've ever seen garnished with herbal salsa verde and raviolo with an egg yolk tucked inside, braised lamb shank over apricot-studded couscous, and bacon-wrapped dates with housemade chorizo.

OSO is open Monday through Saturday for dinner — or grab a seat at the bar for apps like crispy chicken livers over heirloom grits and cocktails like the Pear Smash, made with Buffalo Trace and fresh fruit — starting at 5 p.m. Reservations can be made via Yelp or by calling (972) 789-1630.
