Tex-Mex and Mexican Fusion Makes Dining Debut Near Galleria Dallas

Think chimichangas and chiles en nogada.

A combo of Tex-Mex favorites and traditional Mexican dishes distinguish the recently-opened Loca Luna, which just debuted next door to the Galleria at 5301 Alpha Road in the former Maximo space, which shuttered earlier this year.

The new restaurant is the first Dallas outpost for an Arkansas-based hospitality group that currently runs over 20 restaurants throughout Arkansas and Louisiana.

CultureMap Dallas takes a first taste and is smitten with the extra-thich corn tortillas, made in-house and the salsa trio (red, green and bean) that arrives with the free chips; the menu ranges from enchiladas and tacos to chicken in mole poblano and stone mortars piled with fajitas.
