Finally, signs of life at the old Tried and True space next to Capitol Pub: CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that Henderson Avenue Country Club will open in January, and rather than golf and ladies who lunch, the new concept will offer "barbecue and honky-tonk music." Brought to you by a team "whose portfolio includes the McFadden's chain and the Mason Bar in Uptown, as well as nearby Henderson Tap House," the menu will include smoked meats (naturally), cornmeal-crusted catfish, and the actually-kind-of-awesome-sounding "hillbilly charcuterie" snack plate.
Expect plenty of beer and somewhat fancy-sounding cocktails courtesy of two "mixologists," as well as frequent live music of the country variety.
