Pho Destination Dalat to Steam Up Downtown Plano

Downtown Plano, just recently the recipient of its very own Lockhart Smokehouse location, is now getting another popular D-town spot: East Dallas Vietnamese joint Dalat.

CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that Dalat owner Khanh Nguyen has nabbed the corner spot at 15th Street and Avenue K that was once occupied by costume shop Queen of Hearts. She quotes a Dalat manager as saying the Plano location will be somewhat smaller than the Fitzhugh original, with "a more limited menu." Look for it to open roughly two months from now.

While the original Dalat is known for its industry-friendly late-night hours, downtown Plano isn't exactly known for bustling nightlife; regardless, a pho spot will definitely make a great addition to a neighborhood that already has solid pizza (Urban Crust), top-notch coffee (Fourteen Eighteen Coffeehouse), the recently opened brick-and-mortar expansion of the Cajun Tailgators food truck, and German stalwart Jorg's Cafe Vienna, amongst others.
