Legendary cheese fries destination Snuffer's finally reopened today on Lower Greenville after a long journey beginning nearly a year ago that involved demolition, construction and plenty of court appearances.
Die-hard Snuffer's fans who followed the saga will remember that the O.G. Snuffer's location nearly became a Pat's Burger & Cheddar Fries instead, but now it's back in all its original, greasy glory, with a few updates like a full bar and some menu additions — and now it, like the rest of the Snuffer's locations, is owned by Firebird Restaurant Group, the company behind El Fenix and Meso Maya.
The reopening comes just in time for the annual drunken shitshow that is the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day parade — or, as it's officially called these days, the Dallas St. Patrick's Parade on Greenville Ave. — because what tastes better after an excess of green beer than French fries smothered in cheese and bacon? Also, Snuffer's now offers $1 Bud Light drafts, all day, every day, as well as three local beers on tap for those with slightly more highbrow taste in brews.
