Local photographer Kari Crowe Seher announced in January that she'd be opening the Metroplex's very first "farm-to-cone" ice cream shop in Fort Worth's eclectic Near Southside neighborhood, and things are moving right along at the future Melt Ice Creams.
While she has yet to set an official opening date, Crowe Seher says they're "getting close," and they've definitely enacted quite a transformation on the former coffee shop that will be Melt, sprucing up the building's brick exterior with a bright cheery yellow and some fun interior details to match.
Melt will rely heavily on local Texan ingredients, offering flavors that will rotate with the seasons like lemon-basil, lavender, butternut squash, and sweet potato-maple; besides a lineup of unusual flavors, expect housemade cones, lactose-free sorbets, and even some vegan-friendly options.
