Frozen Pop Shop Slated for Lower Greenville & West 7th

Birmingham, Alabama-based ice pop maker Steel City Pops is DFW-bound. According to AL.com, the company, which launched in 2012 and currently has four locations within Alabama with more on the way, plans to open a shop on Lower Greenville and in Fort Worth's West 7th district "within the next two months."

Steel City specializes in all-natural frozen pops in "fruity" flavors such as pineapple-jalapeno, cucumber-lime, hibiscus, strawberry balsamic or tamarind, and "creamy" flavors like avocado, peanut butter, cherry sour cream, vanilla or banana. The owner also plans to add "a couple of Texas-specific flavors for the Dallas and Fort Worth stores," like prickly pear.

If all goes to plan, it sounds like Steel City will land in DFW just in time for what's sure to be another scorchingly hot summer — definitely an ideal climate for ice pops.
