Think steakhouse and you probably don't think pizza (and vice versa), but chef John Tesar says his soon-to-open Knife Modern Steakhouse at Hotel Palomar will indeed serve pizza — at least, on the bar menu.
Knife will feature "grilled pizzette," which is a fancy term for a small pizza, with several different topping options including lobster, a white clam pie, Peking duck, tandoori chicken, Bel Paese (a semisoft Italian cheese) with truffles and a potato pizza with duck egg.
As for his own personal pizza preferences, New York native Tesar says, "I love Jay Jerrier and I like Fireside. It's not New York, but they are both quality products."
