EZ Dude BBQ to Rock Deep Ellum Starting in Mid-April

Deep Ellum is becoming quite the barbecue hotbed. CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that Rob Eichelberger and Buster O'Keefe, who can be found serving up barbecue outside music venues in Deep Ellum and beyond via a mobile operation they call EZ Dude BBQ, are opening a brick-and-mortar spot on Elm Street (next door to The Green Room) come mid-April.

Eichelberger tells Gubbins he cooks for many touring musicians who come through Dallas, "from Slayer to Mumford and Sons to Imagine Dragons." They'll specialize in ribs, chicken, sausage and a couple unique items including smoked chicken wings and smoked burgers; it sounds like EZ Dude will also have a bar.

Once Pecan Lodge opens in its new location sometime this summer, Deep Ellum will have a whopping five barbecue joints, the others being Mama Faye's, Baker's Ribs and WORK.
