Acclaimed restaurateur Nick Badovinus of Neighborhood Services and Off-Site Kitchen fame is now setting his sights on the oh-so-hot Design District.
Badovinus' cozy-sounding new project is called Town Hearth, and according to Nancy Nichols over at SideDish it'll showcase "open-hearth cooking" — aka, meat and seafood cooked over wood-burning grills.
Expect a raw bar, beef that's dry-aged on site, and "a 1,500-bottle wine room." (Over at the Dallas Morning News, Sarah Blaskovich reports there will also be housemade pasta.)
The triangle-shaped building is being built from the ground up — a first for Badovinus & co., as Blaskovich points out. Now, the bad news: If all goes to plan, as it so rarely seems to in the restaurant construction world, Town Hearth is slated for a March 2015 opening.
In the meantime, Badovinus fans will have to make do with his other new projects: The new Off-Site Kitchen location at Trinity Groves and a third Neighborhood Services in Addison, which both blogs say will open this summer.
