West Plano will get its own fancy bowling alley-slash-"dining and entertainment destination" come late winter 2014. According to a press release, the company behind Pinstack just purchased a whopping 7 acres near the Dallas North Tollway and Windhaven Parkway on which they plan to build "a 50,000 square foot venue which will feature a restaurant, full-sized bowling lanes, private lanes available to book for events and an array of indoor games and attractions."
The company has commissioned local firm Coeval Studio to design the project, which they promise will feature "a modern, attractive and forward aesthetic with bold finishes [and] inviting lighting." (Okay, so that's really not very descriptive but if Coeval's other work is any indication, it'll be pretty.)
Pinstack follows the recent upscale bowling alley trend started locally by Bowl & Barrel, which opened at the Shops at Park Lane in late 2012; there's also Bowlounge in the Design District, which made its debut last summer. Pinstack will be much, much larger though, at about three times the size of either Bowl & Barrel or Bowlounge.
