TJ's Fresh Seafood Market is packing up and heading (slightly) south: The original Preston-Forest location is relocating to the space in Preston Royal Village recently vacated by Purple Cow.
The space, which is slated for a late summer or early fall opening, will get a new look courtesy of designer Hatsumi Kuzuu (FT33, The Lot, Tei-An). Expect a full-service dining room to seat 80 and a bar stocked with not only beer and wine but also liquor. Says director of operations Chase Cheatham via press release: "We always jokingly called TJ's Oak Lawn not a restaurant, but a 'fish market with seats.' This new location is definitely not a fish market with seats, but a full service restaurant and bar with a great fish case."
The menu will be largely the same as the Oak Lawn location that debuted in late 2012, with lobster rolls, fish tacos, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and of course the ever-rotating selection of fresh seafood in the fish case. Expect to see some new 'signature' items added to the menu, while the offerings at Oak Lawn will be streamlined a bit to focus on the most popular dishes.
