Long-lived diner The Mecca will shutter this Sunday, reports Teresa Gubbins.

The owners have decided that the current corner space at Skillman and Live Oak — which the restaurant moved to in summer 2012 after residing on Harry Hines since the 1960s — is too big and too expensive, and are currently seeking new digs: "Something a little bigger than the store on Harry Hines but smaller than this," manager Alicia Ramon tells CultureMap.

The Mecca has been a Dallas institution for some 76 years, known for its classic diner breakfasts and cinnamon rolls that are literally the size of an adult human head. Stay tuned to see which lucky neighborhood it'll call home next.
