Fort Worth's first "farm-to-cone" ice cream shop, Melt Ice Creams, will officially open to the public April 19.
According to a press release, Melt's opening menu will include six seasonal flavors, all made with local ingredients: "lavender honey, basil-infused sweet cream with local Moore strawberry jam, Avoca coffee, vanilla bean, Dude Sweet chocolate, and a non-dairy option." It'll be available in one, two or three-scoop sizes, and waffle cones will be made in-house.
Melt is the brainchild of local photographer Kari Crowe Seher, who honed her ice cream skills during an apprenticeship at Mason's Creamery in Cleveland, Ohio.
The all-day grand opening party will feature food truck Nosredna, beer from Rahr & Sons and activities for kids between 1-3 p.m. The bright yellow building, formerly a coffee shop, is pretty much impossible to miss for anyone cruising down Rosedale Avenue.
