The New Pecan Lodge Opens For Biz to a Mighty Long Line

Barbecue gods Pecan Lodge opened to the public for the very first day in its new Deep Ellum digs at 11 a.m., and (no surprise here) there was a line of hungry folks that wrapped clear around the building. Thanks to the new restaurant space — which is spacious in its own right at 4,800 square feet but especially sprawling compared to the barbecue joint's previous cramped location at the Dallas Farmers Market — the line was moving quickly, though, and with three times as much pit space as before, they'll be able to satisfy many more diners before the dreaded "Slim Pickins" sign comes out.

Besides plenty more seating and an outdoor patio, the brand new barbecue spot also has one very important thing that the farmers market lacked: beer, including Peticolas Velvet Hammer and a new custom brew from Four Corners called Boss Lady. Hours at the new location are Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m.-3 p.m and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m., closed Mondays.
