Trinity River Audubon Fundraiser; Barter Grills Out

SOUTH DALLAS—The Trinity River Audubon Center will host its annual fundraiser, Scissor-tails and Cocktails, this Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m. Participating chefs include Andrew Bell, Matt Balke, Abraham Salum, Graham Dodds, Jason Weaver and Nathan Tate, and there will also be cocktails, live music, birds of prey, a campfire and a silent auction. UPTOWN—Barter will host a grill out on Saturday, May 17 starting at 11 a.m. because hello, warm weather. Chef Andrew Dilda will roast a whole pig over an open fire on the patio and serve all-you-can eat pork with rice and beans for $25, while barman Rocco Milano will be whipping up a special cocktail made with tequila, elderflower liqueur, orange juice and Saint Arnold Amber Ale (the regular cocktail and food menus will be available also). PARK CITIES—Hopdoddy Burger Bar has several new menu items: Three cocktails including white wine sangria, a frozen margarita and a beet michelada, a Thunderbird chicken burger with cilantro pesto, pepper jack, chipotle mayo and more, and an oh-so-trendy quinoa salad with vegetables and pumpkin seeds.
