The green juice invasion continues: Austin-based mini-chain Daily Juice opened its first Dallas outpost Monday morning on Cedar Springs in the space formerly occupied by Buli (aka the place that served paninis in old-school cartoon lunchboxes). The juice bar, which launched in 2003 and now has three Austin locations and one in Houston, specializes in the cold-pressed juices that seem to be invading Dallas from every direction lately. (Daily Juice also has nine more stores planned for the DFW area.)
While mere mortals might balk at the menu prices — $8 to $12 for cold-pressed juices and smoothies — devotees of the rather pricey juicing trend will probably take them in stride. These certainly aren't your garden-variety Jamba Juice concoctions either, containing exotic ingredients like Himalayan salt, maca root, cayenne, turmeric, raw cacao, coconut oil, hemp seeds and marine phytoplankton in addition to mountains of fresh fruit and vegetables. There's also two flavors of kombucha tea on tap, priced at a slightly more wallet-friendly $5, and a refrigerated case holds a few pre-packaged food options for $7 including kale salads (of course) and zucchini pasta. Get your juice fix Monday-Saturday 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
