Is Addison Getting a Ramen Spot?

Looks like the city of Addison may soon be getting a ramen spot of its very own. An Eater tipster points out that a "coming soon" listing for Ramen Hakata has popped up on AddisonWeb, an unofficial (but rather comprehensive and frequently updated) listing of every restaurant in Addison city limits.

The street address given for Ramen Hakata, 3714 Belt Line Road, is indeed currently under construction, though the construction permit hung in the window offers no useful information. The space was most recently home to the fast-casual chain Burrito Jimmy and prior to that, a Starbucks.

The term "hakata" refers to a specific type of ramen that hails from Fukuoka, Japan, and is often used interchangeably with tonkotsu, which is the rich pork-based version of the noodle soup that can be found locally at Tanoshii and Tei-An, among other places.

As Teresa Gubbins reported last month, a ramen shop is also slated to hit Richardson this summer. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
