Oak Lawn newcomer Scotch & Sausage made its debut at 11 a.m. today. Housed in a former law office, the new restaurant features exactly what it promises — an extensive selection of sausages (some housemade, others produced locally) and a long list of whiskeys and scotches. The menu features no less than two dozen tube meat options, so indecisive types would be wise to check out the menu before heading over; potential standouts include a turducken mole sausage and a bulgogi-marinated wild boar version with sesame oil. There are also thrice-cooked Belgian frites with a dozen different sauces including curry ketchup, sriracha mayo and lemon-dill yogurt. And while vegetarians probably tend to avoid restaurants with "sausage" in their names, be advised there are several meat-free options here, including an Italian-influenced sausage that's made with eggplant and fennel.
But perhaps the best news about Scotch & Sausage is that it's open extremely late; until midnight Sunday through Wednesday, 3 a.m. on Thursday (aka tonight) and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
