Lockhart Smokehouse, Saturday at 11:45 a.m.

Welcome to a special Five Days of Meat edition of Eater Scenes, where our intrepid photographers visit some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today: Lockhart Smokehouse.

While a midday barbecue meal is certainly a fine way to break up the drudgery of a work day, a proper feast at Lockhart Smokehouse will likely result in a full-on meat coma. For that reason, weekends are perhaps the best time to get gluttonous at this Bishop Arts District barbecue spot with fatty brisket, the signature shoulder clod, blue cheese slaw, mac and cheese, and a cold craft beer on tap. Better add some of that Kreuz Market sausage while you're at it, too — oh yeah, and maybe some of those brisket-stuffed deviled eggs. Here now, a photo gallery of all the meaty action at lunchtime on Saturday.
