Over at The Verge, Eater editor-in-chief Amanda Kludt argues that while hot new technology like reservations apps are convenient, they "may just 'solve' a host of non-problems." A better future for the restaurant world "involves a very different kind of change": She hopes that someday, "a career in the restaurant industry…is respectable and dignified. That would mean healthcare, a higher minimum wage, maternity leave, paid sick leave, equity, and educational opportunities." [The Verge]
