Suburban Sprawl: Cane Rosso Now Open in Fairview

Living in the Fairview/Allen/McKinney area just got a whole lot better: Local pizza wonder Cane Rosso opened its doors on Friday night in the sprawling Village at Allen/Village at Fairview shopping center that occupies both sides of North Central Expressway near Stacy Road. The Neapolitan pizzeria's fourth location replaces the ill-fated Purple Cow; the area is well-populated with chains both national and local, including Twisted Root, La Duni, Gloria's and In-N-Out. Expect the same lineup of charred and chewy-crusted, quick-cooking pies that Jay Jerrier's empire has become known for, appetizers like fresh burrata, fried artichokes, meatballs and a few sandwich options, plus garlic knots like the ones served at New York-style offshoot Zoli's. Exclusive to Fairview is a new pie called the Bruin, which features bolognese sauce, roasted mushrooms, fresh mozz and seasoned ricotta.

Cane Rosso Fairview is closed today, but they'll reopen Tuesday at 5 p.m.; beyond that, they'll be open seven days a week, with BYOB on Mondays only. There are also plans to add lunch hours in the future.
