It seems like just yesterday that chef Brooke Egger got settled into the kitchen at Trinity Groves' ever-evolving Kitchen LTO, but several new contenders are already vying for the chef's coveted spot.
The restaurant has just released its list of chef finalists for the fourth round, and locals will recognize at least one of the names: Blythe Beck, former chef (and reality TV star) at the now-defunct Central 214. Also in the running is a sous chef from Plano's Mexican Sugar and Kitchen LTO's current sous. A voting party on September 7 will showcase the finalists and their flavors, and Eggers' tenure will end on September 30; LTO will reopen on October 2 with a new chef in the kitchen and a new menu.
CHEF FINALISTS:
BLYTHE BECK - Proposed menu: Upscale Southern. Currently, Chef Blythe is working on a return to national television, a locally broadcasted cooking program, as well as cookbooks, cookware, and a line of foods.
ALEX FORSYTHE – Proposed menu: Americana. Currently, Forsythe is an executive chef for Executive Chef Services and works on several private yachts.
JOE LETTERI – Proposed menu: Modern Italian. Letteri, who grew up in Italy, moved to Dallas two years ago. He is a private chef and owns a company called Simplicity Chef.
HUMBERTO LIRA – Proposed menu: Modern Mexican. Lira was most recently sous chef at Mexican Sugar in Plano.
MEGAN POTTS – Proposed menu: Northwest Mediterranean. Potts, who began her career as a line cook at acclaimed restaurant, Redd, in Napa Valley is currently sous chef at Kitchen LTO.
LTO will also appoint a new artist to adorn the walls of the space (a departure from the original concept, which was to choose a new interior designer to fully revamp the space each round); finalists this time around are Salma Gottfried, Anne Hines, Mark Malone, Ali Mignonne and Ricardo Salas.
